Error: ESS Track of JDI

Former Member

I am able to log in to JDI from NDS and I can see the ESS Track created, but when i select the track and hit the next button I am getting error "getRemoteDevelopmentConfigurationError".

Actually I imported all required components and SAP_ESS.SCA, SAP_MSS.SCA in Development tab from CMS Gui.

Is it necessary to import these SCAs from consolidation tab?? is it stopping me to get track configuration in NDS(Netweaver Developer Studio).

Did anyone see this error, please share the solution.

Thank you.

I'm always getting the same error when I try to import a development configuration.

I use NW04s SR1.

I've tried to create a new track, but can't import it neither.

There is no unicode characters in track data.

There is nothing in defaulttrace or security logs.

Hi Shar

When u select a track, there must be a + sign to the left of it. Expand that and in it select the entry with DEV and then click next.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks & regards,

Hi Shar,

which version of the NWDI are you running?

In some older versions, it can happen that unicode characters in the name or description of the track prevent you from downloading the DevConf. So please check this (or provide the name and description of the track here).

@Anupreet: the plus sign appears when you are using the field "Development Configuration Path" to structurize your DevConfs. When you leave the field empty, then all DevConfs will appear at the root level.

Best regards,

JDI6.40 SP15

I created one sample track that i could able get into NDS, but not the ESSTrack.

I have imported all the required SCAs and SAP_ESS/MSS.SCA into ESSTrack(which is giving me hard time to get into NDS).

Hi Shar,

the import of the SCAs is necessary that you initially can import the archives, but it is not necessary for the import of the development configuration which is just a description for the NWDS where to retrieve all the sources/archives.

Could you please have a look at the log files of the NWDI and SLD system (interesting ones are the DefaultTrace and Security) to find out more information. It is possible that the security configuration doesn't allow you to download the development configurations of this track.

Best regards.
