Can't activate a request

all -

I'm trying to activate a request in an ODS but i keep on getting the error message that

"Request REQU_43DM9Z5JT01W4H4IHYN7QA5ZT(117,229)has not or not correctly been updated; Please edit"

I'm not sure what this request is exactly. It is not a load that has come into my ODS and has failed for some reason. I tried tranaction SM37 to see what the request is and SM37 says that the status of the job is "Finished". Can anyone tell me what the issue is here please. I need to activate the data in my ODS.

thanks,

Nyrvole

Hi vincent,

There may be few reasons why this issue has arised. Goto RSRQ and enter your request name and execute. The monitor screen for the request comes. Now here you got to see, whether the request is gone to all the data targets which it is supposed to go. If suppose the request is designed to goto 3 targets and its missed one of it, then sometimes it will not allow you to activate it. Is its not in the required data target, try updating it. This can be done only if the request if brought in through PSA. So check all these points and get back

You may be loading data into data targets which are not supposed to load data. Just go and cross check your data targets in your infopackage. You might have selected all data targets by mistake.

KJJ No - I checked this and I am only loading into one datatarget. I also tried deleting the request and re-loading but I get the similar error but with a different request. any other suggestions?

Hi again,

r u on delta for this ODS? if yes, ensure that there is no delta request which is missed inbetween the request ur trying to activate. If u have missed some delta request, the ODS doesnt allow u to activate. So for that particular infosource, check all of the requests are in ODS. If some delta is missed and u dont want those, then mark it red and then try to activate.

What do you mean "if some delta is missed"? How can I tell if I am missing a request. Please elaborate

Hi,

Suppose you have a ODS which is on delta, and if incase you have missed some delta request in between ( the request is not present in ODS but as say come till PSA or gone to some other data targets etc ), then you wil be not able to activate the ODS. so to findout this, just goto the infosurce which gets the data to ODS, click on monitor for past 10 days and see whether all request is in the ODS. If the request is not in ODS, then you have to either get it into ODS or mark it red.

Hi Vincent -

Check if you have a short dump for this instance. If you got shortdump, please let me know what it says.

I think your instructions worked. I checked in the monitor and the requests which did not get activated in the ODS, I turned to Red status. After which I was able to activate all other requests coming in.
