AppConnect for Fiori Client (MobileIron as MDM)

Hi all,

in this old thread the bottom line about deploying a Fiori client using MobileIron as MDM was: Simple deployment will work, Configuration will be difficult, Onboarding to the corporate network will be possible through AppConnect (if using a custom Fiori Client based on Kapsel SDK)

I'm wondering if anybody succeeded in this and if so, what was achieved? I'm especially interested in the AppConnect feature of MobileIron as it would let us use Per-App-VPN for all communication within the custom Fiori client. 1. Is it still the case (even with SAP/Hana Cloud Platform, mobile services) not to build a client that runs AppConnect.
2. Our overall goal is to have a Fiori Client (could be custom) that authenticates via SSO to our (currently on-prem - could be cloud in future) FES.
