Issue with Variable Entry

Hi,

I am having an issue with the variable entry in BI 7.0 Version. Here is a brief background.

--- In BW 3.x, when we define a variable with <b>Single Value Option</b>, you can enter the value manually in the pop-up selection screen or select from the dropdown of possible values.

---But in 7.0 when i try to enter the value manually in the selection screen its opening the dropdown list, and is not giving me the option to enter a value manually. I am entering a valid single value in selection.

Is this a bug or do i have to make any specific settings to correct my issue?

Put your cursor on the box and hit CTRL+K. This will allow you to enter the variable value manually.

Is there an option to allow direct input by default? Our user community will not be pleased with the CTRL-K requirement.

did you receive any answer to your last question ? Because also for our community it will be a problem to hit every time entering the variables screen CTRL+K

Hi,

You cannot enter the value manually directly in your variable.

You can however enter the value manually in the dropdown list.

There's an input area at the bottom of the dropdown list.

I read somewhere the manual entry in the pop-up selection screen would become available in the future. This document was however not an official document.

For the moment this is the system behaviour.
