FIM job Runtime options 'Import Amounts' 'Import Comments'

Hello,

On FIM 10.0 SP15,

has anyone being using the newly introduced FIM job runtime execution filters - checkbox 'Import Comments' and 'Import Amounts'?

For us, the issue is we are able to use these filters and successfully load data to BFC.

but when we have a customized job in Data Services, and we don not select the 'Import Comments' option does not load any data to BFC.

Regards,

Krupali

We could resolve this after lots of trial and error testing.

In our scenario, we observed that :

    1) when we have a FIM job which is not connected to Data Services job (i.e. without customization), the feature works as expected.

    That is :
Execute FIM job -> Data loaded in BFC -> Enter Comments in BFC -> Re-run job with 'Import Comments' unchecked and 'Import Amounts' checked.
Result = Amounts updated in BFC, Comments not overwritten

    2) But it works the other way round when we have a FIM job which is connected to Data Services job (i.e. witht customization), the feature works as expected only when we keep the 'Import Comments' checkbox as 'checked', if we want not to overwrite comments.

    That is :
    2.1

Execute FIM job -> Data loaded in BFC -> Enter Comments in BFC -> Re-run job with 'Import Comments' unchecked and 'Import Amounts' checked.
Result = No data updated in BFC

    2.2

Execute FIM job -> Data loaded in BFC -> Enter Comments in BFC -> Re-run job with 'Import Comments' checked and 'Import Amounts' checked.

Result = data updated in BFC, Comments not overwritten as expected

    Steps :

    - Disconnect the FIM job from the Data Services job
(this will remove all customization added in DS job, so ensure you have a backup for reference)

    - Remove the batch job published as web service in DS Management Console. - In DS Designer, Refresh Object library if its already open.

    - In your 'Load' Data Flow in the DS job, go to 'WSprep' query

    - Ensure to check the output schema of the query - 'Import options', here $doNotImportAmounts $doNotImportComments should be visible now. These are global variables.

    - Add the necessary customization to your DS job again.

    - Republish the job as web service in DS Management Console

    - Connect the FIM job with DS job

    - Execute the job with runtime options 'Import Comments' and 'Import Amounts' check-boxes always checked.
