Update mode R is not supported by the extraction

Hi,

Today we have an abort while extracting master data from R3 to BW. The error message is Update mode R is not supported by the extraction API.

I think in this situations Init will be the good solution.

But i made the red request to green (QM status, total) and then loaded the data. Then the repeat of last delta allowed and it extracted data.

After loading, the manually made green request made to red and then deleted.

But i have doubt am i did correct?

Plz let me know your comments and suggestions.

Hi Naveen,

Usually I have done a reinit when I encountered this problem. Since this is master data I would not worry too much about the approach that you have taken (as there is no fear about key figure values being duplicated etc). Just check to see if the data has been loaded and that you are not missing any records. Else you can do a full load to just sync up everything.

Thanks for ur message.

By seeing the data loaded i am not able to judge whether all data came or not.

Can u explain theoretically am i did correct or wrong, so that if i face similar problem next time i can do accordingly.

I have one doubt.

If it not allowing Repeation of delta, how we can load upto PSA. I tried like this but not able to succeed.

Hi Naveen,

If you make an error request Green, the system will not bring you the repeat delta becasue as per the system, the Green indicates that this delta load was successful. To do a reinit would be the safest course of action here.

It should allow repetition of delta. If not, then you have to reinit.

Hi,

The other approach you can try here, is to load the data just to PSA and then update to info object. That has worked for me and then the next delta worked without a problem. Since this is master data, there's no problem of duplicates and the data is overwritten, so just to try out you can try any method.
