AFBN on specific assets or specific company

Hello,

i need to run AFBN on a specific asset list or company.

We have 50 000 assets in more than 100 companies. All on the same chart of depreciation AAFR.

I need to add my new area to only 30 assets in 1 company. A substitution will deactivate the area in all other company codes.

Is there a workaround to avoid modification of all existing assets that don't need this new area ?

Thanks,

Louis

i prefer not let the user choose activation / deactivation for an asset.

it depends on a company

Hi Louis,

Based on my understanding we activate or deactivate the depreciation area on Asset class and not on Asset and when you add a new depreciation area then you always have the control to whether activate that particular depreciation area in a particular asset class.

Can you please help me to know why the above process will not work?

Modify the program.

Hi,

thanks for the proposals.

However, it is not possible to use new asset classes. Data migration has been already done... It's a catch up: for now, asset depreciations are posted manually on the ledger associated to this new area.

I've checked the code with a dev. Maybe we could try to use an authorization object with the company code to modify it manually.

Other option, which i would prefer avoid, is to run afbn for all assets, and then run mass modification to deactivated new area on assets that are not in the target company code (with worklist and substitution) .

if anyone has a better idea, it would be great. 😉

Hi Louis,

Please do the following -

1. Create Depreciation area via OADB (per Chart of dep).
2. Activate Depreciation area via OAYZ (per Chart of dep. and Asset Class)
3. Automatic opening of new depreciation area via RAFABNEW

Use different asset class or new asset class which you created for this new dep area for every company code, and then you can deactivate the depreciation area in the asset class for the company code.

Thanks,

maybe is better create only for the 1company code the new asset class that has the new area. In this way the other company not use this asset class
