Hi,
When I renamed a data foundation of a universe, the file name of the data foundation (.dfx) is changed to the new name (as shown in the first circle in the screenshot), but the logical name of the universe in Properties does not change (as shown in the second circle on the bottom right in the screen shot attached), and there is no way for me to change the name here.
This has led to the problem that when you check Repository Dependencies on this data foundation, it indicates that this renamed data foundation has the old universe based on the old universe depending on it.
Have anyone experienced this, and how do you get the name of the data foundation correctly changed?
The version of BI is 4.0.
Thanks in advance for any help that you could offer!
Cheers,
Van
Hi Van,
This is a limitation that I've seen for at least 3 years, it doesn't exist in BO 4. SP2 Patch 2 either. I don't know why SAP didn't implement this feature, just like we can have separate names for .blx (physical file name) and Business Layer (logical universe name). Perhaps, you can create an idea on SAP Idea Place in Semantic Layer page. I didn't find any idea for this feature. Before doing so, please check if such feature exists in BO 4.2 SP3.
Thanks,
Mahboob Mohammed
