HCP Session Timeout - SAP Portal Service

Hi Experts,

We have a bunch of apps deployed to HCP and is being used through a portal site in HCP through HCP Portal service. All the backend is in HANA.

When I look at the cockpit/sap web-ide, it shows a nice dialog once the session expires telling the user to reload the screen. I want to have a similar functionality so that the user can know when the session expires.

Is there a API provided for this in the sap.ushell library. I know its the backend that should take care of the session, but we can change that parameter in HANA system configuration. HCP has a timeout of 20 minutes on its own according to documentation.

Is there an elegant way to poll for the session and provide user with reload option on the front-end in case the site/backend session has expired.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
