SAP PI 7.4 dual stack | alerting

Hi,

I'm want to set up alerting on a SAP PI 7.4 dual stack system, but it doesn't seem to be that easy. Please note that we only use the classical way of setting up scenarios. No ICO objects are being used.

• SXMB_ADM - parameter ALERTING_IS_ACTIVE set to 1
• SMB_ADM - ALERTING_TARGET set to 1
• In the NWA, java mail client, SMTP parameters set
• In the integration directory: alert rules created
• in transaction ALRTCATDEF, all have been defined
• transaction SCOT also completed
• Java scheduler for AlertConsumerJob up and running
• RWB - Message Alert Configuration - nothing has been done.

Still no alert is being triggered/Sent.

Any ideas?

How did you succeed? What was the missing link?

We ourselves are currently examining a problem, where an AS ABAP Application System (our ERP System) which was formerly attached to an dual stack PI 7.0 now creates (or try to create) alerts when something goes awry in SXMB_MONI.

ALERTING_IS_ACTIVE is set to 1

ALERTING_TARGET is set to 0

I will set ALERTING_IS_ACTIVE to 0 for the time being but I am curious if there would be other settings involved on an application / business system for alerting to an dual stack PI (we now have an AEX but haven't completed CBMA setup yet)

Hi Jens,

At the end we had to upgrade our system to solve the problem.
Seems that some Java components were too old.
