Hi,

I have 5 aggregates on a cube,

1)how could i know what are the aggregates that are being used by a query.

2)And apart from this how could i know what is the time(Start and end time) taken by a query to execute..will any one please give me a detailed information regarding this.

3)I ran a query in RSRT,i have some options over there like display aggreagets found and select aggregats.

what are the major differences between these two options..

is it like 'display aggreagets found' is for the aggregates which are hit by a query are the available aggregats that are found.

and what is purpose of select aggregate.

Thanks in advance.

Shashikanth.

Hi,

For the aggregates that are used, you can goto aggregate maintenance screen and see which aggregates were used by looking at the stats on the right hand side columns.

You can use BW stats or the technical content to see the start and execute times of the query.

Check the link below for all the details related to aggregates:

Here are the answers:

1. Got to RSRT for intial aggregates. for drill-down go to RSRTRACE and RSRCATTTRACE

2. Got table RSDDSTAT table for details time of query execution.

3. In RSRT the display aggr found will actually display the aggregate name ex: 100254 which was hitting by report but select aggregates..would be you can use it but the aggr. will be used in background...but I think if u choose select aggregates...the display aggr found would also gets checked.

Hope this helps.

Select option actually uses the aggregates when query is executed.

You could use option Display Statistics to see runtime of query as well as additional technical information.

You can also use BW Statistics to analyse performance in more detail.

Hope it helps,
