Can not edit the query of a webi report with BO XI 3.1

Dear all ,

I have a problem regarding: "Can not edit the query of a webi report with BO XI 3.1"

Previous data:
Security is at folder and group level.
It seems like the connections to the universes are fine and the security of the universes is fine and the security of the Web Intelligence application is fine.

The problem comes when trying to "edit query" from an InfoView webi report or Rich Client. Showing "This query can not be edited"
Attached a screenshot

We have three users:
BITA_ADM
Administrator
Other unknown user

There are two universes A and B and two old reports that were made by a user other than BITA_ADM. They were loaded into the repository by that user other than BITA_ADM.
These two old reports:
Report 1 uses the A Universe
Report 2 uses the B Universe

If we login in InfoView with the user BITA_ADM (belongs to the group of ADMINISTRATORS BITA and others) we see only the BITA folder.
We execute the old report 1 that uses the universe A. When we try to edit the query it shows "This query can not be edited"
We execute the old report 2 that uses the universe B. We can edit the query

If we enter as administrator user we see all the folders in the repository including the BITA folder.
We execute the old report 1 that uses the universe A. We can edit the query
We execute the old report 2 that uses the universe B. We can edit the query

Now comes the good ...
As user BITA_ADM design two NEW reports -> NEW 1 and NEW 2
NEW report 1 uses A Universe
NEW report 2 uses B Universe

If we login in InfoView with the user BITA_ADM (belongs to the group of BITA ADMINISTRATORS and all) we see only the BITA folder.
We run the NEW report 1 that uses the universe A. We can edit the query
We run the NEW report 2 that uses the universe B. We can edit the query

Now my question:
When I try to edit with BITA _ADM the old report, which uses the universe A, created by another user other than BITA_ADM, I CAN NOT EDIT THE QUERY But when I try to edit with BITA_ADM a new report created by BITA_ADM which uses the same universe A, I CAN EDIT THE QUERY
What could be happening? Security is at the level of folders and groups

Thanks in advance !!!

Sincerely

Antonio

Dear All and Kumar

Thank you very much

But one question

Both reports OLD and NEW have the option

"Allow other users to edit queries" checked

Another thing

I do not understand very well the solution

Let me ask some questions

1. I log on in InfoView with an user , which? BITA_ADM

5. Login to InfoView with BITA_ADM ???

6. I cannot modify the report because it is an old report which does not belong to me.

I want to edit the query of the OLD reports using BITA_ADM ( Created by another user ) because I can edit querys of the New reports (Created by BITA_ADM)

Resolution

  • Need to create the WebI report again.
  • Click on Edit Query.
  • Uncheck "Allow other users to edit queries" option.
  • Run and save the report.
  • Login to InfoView again.
  • Modify the report with same user.
  • Owner of the WebI report is able to edit query
