IBP jobs using Data Service Agent in Background

Hi,

At first, I want to apologize because my question is probably to basic for some of you but I'm a basis guy and don't know much about HCI and IBP so far.

A client has SAP IBP and is comunicating with the on premise ERP using HCI and local Data Service Agent with the lattest patch.

The problem we are facing is that during an extraction from some tables, we get a timeout error because this job runs in Dialog (productive ERP). I asked to the functional guy who is working in creating this jobs, if it is possible to run them in background, he told me it is not possible. This doesn't sound rigth to me and as he is new to HCI and IBP, probably he does not know how to do it.

My question is, an extraction job to get data from the ERP system could run in background?

If possible, how it is done?

Hi Alberto,

There is an option in datastore "Execute in background (batch)" we can set that to yes. I know it will works for extractors, standard and custom ABAP transformation. not sure if it does the same for direct table extracts.

This submits an SM37 job, we can check the job log there as well.
