How to externally retrieve datasources used in Design Studio application?

Is it possible to somehow retrieve the data-sources that are used in a (or in all) Design Studio application(s) without opening it? I was trying to find information in the BI Platform SDK documentation, which lets you do this for WebI reports, but it doesn't list any info about using the SDK with Design Studio.

Is there perhaps a guide or tutorial for using the BI Platform SDK with Design Studio? I wasn't able to find anything here either. Any information would be highly appreciated.

Do you have a link or an example for where this works for Web Intelligence?

You can also search the SAP Analytics Extensions directory at https://analytics-extensions.enter.sap

Thanks, but I've managed to solve my question. You can see the answer below.

I figured it out myself, but I'd thought I'd post it here, so others can find it in future.

The easiest way to do this, as far as I know, is to simply parse all the xml files which define the Design Studio applications, and within those you can quite easily identify the data-sources. I used a PowerShell script on the BO server to find all the xml files in the following folder.

~\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects ...\FileStore\Input

Then, in that same PowerShell script, I parsed the XML files for the following:

<bi:data_source_alias>
   ...
   <bi:property name="DATA_SOURCE_NAME" value="X" />
   ...
</bi:data_source_alias>

where X is the name of the of the data-source (e.g. BW Query name). You can then, for example, paste all the data-source names in a txt or csv file.
