What does the program RSWWWIM do?

I am doing some research on a Workflow process already in place in our System.

The workflow is part of an approval process for a sales order.

Upon creating the sales order, It should send out an email with the Sales Order as the enclosed PDF Document, to the relevant approver!

In the test environment, I have seen mail approval notification ending up in SOST for the sales order that I have created.

And If I check the jobs run in SE37, I see that the batch user has run the SWWWIM Job with the program RSWWWIM as the only step in the job, after my sales order was created!

I suspect that this job is responsible for dispatching the mail notification, but I would like to know how (e.g. which workflow tables are read, etc.). I have found no information at all on the above program, either in my extensive Workflow books or on the Internet.

Can someone please help in explaining what the program above does, and / or provide useful link on the documentation of the above program?

Your help is much appreciated!

Regards,

SJ

Hi,

this job is used for asynchronous methods and is also used to move workitems from STARTED to READY to make it available for all users when someone cancels a dialog workitem.

You can check the SAP notes there are some on the programs behaviour.

Kind regards, Rob Dielemans
