SAP BW on HANA - Source system database requirements?

Hi all,

i´ve heard about that it's necessary to update a SAP ECC system which currently runs on a SQL database to MaxDB to connect/use it with SAP BW on HANA? Is this correct?

In my point of view it's not relevant on which database the SAP ECC system runs to connect it to SAP BW on HANA?

Hi Andreas,

You can connect any ECC on a BW on Hana regardless of its database (connection is done at the application level).
