Cross Catalog Search

Hi ,

I am checking Cross Catalog Search functionality for internal & Punch out catalogs.

I have done settings for Cross catalog search - tick mark & maintained call up Parameters (FUNCTION & SEARCHSTRING).But while shopping,in search system is not giving any search result for selected catalogs.

am I missing anything else ?

My client as well would like this feature of searching across multiple catalogs (including punch-out sites). Please provide additional detail if possible.

All-

When you create a master catalog, you usually do not create a Web service ID for a master catalog. Create a web service ID for a master catalog and assign it to the root org and this will enable cross catalog search through standard and extended search for all teh users in the Org Structure.

Thanks for your quick reply. Can you clarify what a "master catalog" is? We are using Requisite for 2 of our vendors and we have 2 other vendors that use punch-out external catalos. If this is a CCM term, I'm unfamiliar. Also, just to clarify again, did you load all your products into the master catalog, including those that are hosted by your suppliers via Punch-out?

Pravin: the last I heard (from an SAP instructor), the Cross-Catalog Search only works for internal catalogs, e.g. CCM. If that's not so, I am sure someone will correct me.

As far as config, take a look at SAP Note 973594 (Cross Catalog Search - Configuration).

Pravin,

There is a Bug in the cross catalog search functionality and SAP is aware of this. Since SAP could not advise on achieving this functionality, we implemented a work around solution for one our clients.

We used the master catalog to perform the cross catalog search. Created a Web service ID and assigned it at the root organization. Users were able to search across multiple catalogs using CCM's standard search, which is pretty robust.
