UWL Connector API availability for public

Hi all. I am new to SAP Portal. My customer wants us to connect (IBM Tivoli Identity Manager) approval workflow to UWL. We are now in feasibility study stage. Design will potencially begin within a few weeks.

I've read on blogs UWL Connector API will be available in SPS09 but failed to find out anything about it in Release Notes. Is there a way how to get documentation about this API? Is this API available for public? If not when it will be available.

Refer to SAP Note 921870 The API to the universal worklist. Also check the reference note
