Hi,

Let me know how you are passing external id no. into business partner number. If business people want to keep legacy number then you can store that number in some other field not in Business partner id(for example in search term 2). Business partner id generated by SAP system within number defined for the specific type of business partner.

Thanks

Hi krishna,

If you want to create a BP with the saem numbers what you are passing from the legacy system create a new number range which will accomodate the numbers you are passing and mark it as external number range so that CRM will accept the same number .Then you assign the grouping to it.

To do this activity follow the path in transaction SPRO.

cross application components->SAP BP->BP-> basic settings->Number range and groupings.

Hi Manjunath,

You can use the External BP Number field to populate the number coming from legacy which is under the Identification tab in BP transaction.
