Hi All,

I have a requirement to conenct a RFC connection from SAP system to a windows desktop to run a batch file in the windows desktop.

I have installed standalone gateway in windows desktop.

I have a created a TCP/IP RFC and trying to connect with Start on explicit host and provide the Windows desktop details and chose remote execution option with appropriate gateway details provided in the RFC.

The RFC connection is failing with Partner program fork failed, can you please let me know if i am missing anything in configuring this RFC connection.

Thanks,

Sanketh.

Hello Sanketh,

Are you maintaining the full path to the batch file at the RFC destination? (like "c:\some\folder\mybatch.bat")

In addition, does the "SIDadm" user of the standalone gateway have at least "read access" to the batch file and its folder? Depending on what the batch does, the "SIDadm" of the standalone gateway would need "full control" access.

And I assume that this batch file will start an RFC enabled program (a binary / executable file that was linked to the SAP RFC library). Correct? Otherwise, the RFC destination will fail, despite that the batch is started correctly.

This is because SAP expects that the external command will connect back to SAP.

Isaías

Thanks Isaias for the response.

Batch file is designed to connect to excel and run some calculation in EPM - Addin.

Does the external command work in this case, let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Sanketh.

Hello Sanketh,

I would guess that the EPM addin would connect to SAP. So, it would work.
