Hi all,
I defined a web service system (I'm using nw04s SP7)
http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL
in VC using the "Define web service system" in Tools .
I can see the alias name in the "Find Data services"
When I try to retrieve a particular operation it returns
"Failed to connect to Backend system.Check your system definition and user privileges"
This happens with almost all the web services....
I have configured my Bypass Proxy Settings as *
What can be the possible error?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Namita.
In the blog mentioned above (/people/prakash.darji/blog/2006/10/10/external-web-service-proxy-configuration-for-visual-composer) look for the header "How do I set it up within SPS9 and higher?" where you will find a detailed explanation.

I am trying tor create following web service:
http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL
and at the time of creating I am getting following message:
Unknown exception while creating system, please consult log file.
I havegone through all possible blogs and postings on this forum and followed necessary directions such as setting proxy etc and I am not sure what I am missing. I am currently on VC 7.0 SPS 11.
Any help will be highly appreciable.
Regards,
Sachin

If you still have issues, do an auth trace.

Please make sure to define the Proxy settings of the J2EE engine (not only in the Portal) as advised above.

Hi
Please can you try using SP8 of VC and do not forget that you also have to configure the proxy in the portal.

As of SPS09 the proxy actually needs to be setup within the JAVA Visual Admin. Please see the following.
