hi,

where have you looked for the xRPM menu? in portal? or in backend?

your portal will be typically accessed via some url like this http://server:port/irj/portal

when you are speaking of roles, are you referring to portal or backend roles?

best regards, thorsten

Hi Yasar,

Once you access the port using http://servername:<port>/irj/portal, go to content administration and there you assign the roles. roles can be Resource manager, portfolio manager and item manager.

ps. I hope you find this answer useful. If so please reward points

Hi Anantharaman,

I have given the required roles, now I am able to see the portfolio tabs in the portal screen. I getting the initial screen for Project Management and Design Colloboration tabs in the portal. But when I click on the Portfolio Management tab I am getting the following message.

No Portfolios exist.

No portfolio was found: Contact your system administrator

Configure link to show as startup page.

Do I need to setup some initial data to get the first screen of Portfolio Management .

Please let me know.

Have you given authorization for administration to the user?

In case you have, you should see the "Administration" tab in the portfolio page.

go to administration tab, and create a portfolio. Create buckets also.

Now you may switch over to "Item Management" tab and start creating the Portfolio item.

Under administration link I am getting the following error messages

No Portfolios exist.

Configure link to show as startup page

Under right side search window I am getting the following message

No Portfolios exist.

Runtime error: Object type has not been instantiated

I believe the issues may be due to the error message I am seeing in under the search window. Have you come across this. Please help me out

Thanks in advance.

Hi Anantharaman

While checking out the Link Group settings, I saw no link groups defined in the instance I am working. I was under assumption that Link Group definitions are supplied as default with the system, Is this true or we need to create Link Groups definitions?

check whether you have defined the default portfolio in the back end. If so please add a portfolio.

Now go to adminstration, remove cache, and see if you could create a new portfolio

Atlast I have got the issues resolved.

We created a portfolio by directly accessing the iviews

<server:host>webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/xappscprxrpmui~portfolio/PortfolioCreateApp

After this logged into portal and clicked on the Administration link, all the links of XRPM got displayed.

Thanks a lot for the reply

I have cprojects installed in the same server. I could see the SAP menu for cProjects and also able to access the same through

http://<domain name>:8000/sap(bD1lbiZjPTEwMCZkPW1pbg==)/bc/bsp/sap/cprojects/default.htm

but i couldn't see SAP Menu for xPRM and could not find the url for the same. I have given all the roles applicable for the xRPM to the user I am using. Can you please clarify.

you need to know the link to your portal. and you need somebody to assign you the corresponding xRPM roles in the portal
