For your understanding ,

Here are the steps that i followed,

(1)I am Installing SAP XI on Windows 2003 server standard edition with oracle 9i as database.

(2)I copied the DVDs to HARD DRIVE

(3)I created the Microsoft Loopback adapter, assigned an ip.

(4) Then installed j2sdk 1.4.2 for windows

(5) installed central instance with SAPinst

Hi Sridar,

the checksum problem is re. bed copy of the export CDs/DVDs.

Proceed as follow:

1) Stop Install

2) Using the md5 checksum program, you should check the corresponding files at source and target site. In case, you discover differences (which is for sure the case). Copy the corresponding Files again and recheck with md5.

3) restart Install

Hi Gregor,

I am also getting the same checksum error when installing DB instance of IDES 4.7. I am on win 2003 server with oracle 9i.

I have used md5 checksum program to check the source and targer files and the results are matching. I tried the install again and it came up with same error.

Any idea how to resolve this issue.

Pls help.

Thanks

Hi,

I had similar error during Oracle DB Export/Import process for Unicode Conversion. I think the problem was CHECKSUM create for EXPORT FILE was not correct and IMPORT was looking for different CHECKSUM. Once I repeated the EXPORT it worked fine.

In your case, when SAP created the CD/DVD, the file was either not copied properly or if you copied the Install CD to your local drive, it might have got corrupted. You can try to repeat Install directly from CD, and if that does not work, I would recommended to get another set to Install CD.

I hope this helps.

I am still trying to get answer from SAP regarding my error during EXPORT/IMPORT. For now, the only solution is to repeat the process.

Hi Sridhar,

which kind of XI are you trying to install?

Netweaver 2004S? Netweaver 2004? SneakPreview?

Carsten

Hi Carsten,

Thank you for taking a look at my problem.

I am using NW_2004_SR1 (Netweaver 2004 SR1).

Just for your information, the size for those two files on my Hard drive are

SAPSSEXC.001 is 650,240 Kb

SAPAPPL1.001 is 126,608 Kb

and my label.asc in Exports directory is

SAP:NETWEAVER:04SR1:DVD_EXPORT:NETWeaver 04 SR 1 EXPORT DVD:D51030721

label.asc in EXP1 directory is

SAP:NETWEAVER:04SR1:EXPORT(1/3):NetWeaver 04 SR 1 Export CD 1/3:CDxxxxxxxx

label.asc in EXP2 is

SAP:NETWEAVER:04SR1:EXPORT(2/3):NetWeaver 04 SR 1 Export CD 2/3:CDxxxxxxxx

label.asc in EXP3 directory is

SAP:NETWEAVER:04SR1:EXPORT(3/3):NetWeaver 04 SR 1 Export CD 3/3:CDxxxxxxxx

Thank you,

Hi Sridhar,

have you done the normal things? look to the services

if everthing is running? restart the server and try

to continue the installation? copied the install dvd´s

to the harddisk ( c:instexortexp01..... ).

i had the same problem when installing xi first time.

In my case it was not enough space for generating

the indx tab.

After shifting some data to get more space the installation was finshed sucessfully.

Carsten

Hi Carsten,

Can you let me know what are all the services that must be running. I actually restarted my system after every small installation. So that should not be any problem.

Regarding copying the dvd's to harddisk,i copied to E drive which is about 40GB and my C drive(Windows operating system) about 20Gb.

Since you had same problem, pls let me know what have you done exactly. I already tried about 7 times but was not successful.

I appreciate you help.

Thank you
