Hello,
simple question:
A lot of answers are here but...
not really clear to me as general answers.
From where can I generate /get an acknowledgement to send it back to a IDOC sender?
Ok, I understand: IDOC -> XI -> File is able to send back a system acknowledgement from file adapter
Same for IDOC -> XI -> IDOC (as usual)
Is any system or applic. acknowledgement from any adapter suitable? (Or where are restrictions?)
Do I have to add then in NOALE prg. entry for the acknowledgement-sender ?
Best regards
Dirk

Hi Bhavesh,
this is clear to me I think.
But this guide explains Acknowledgements with R/3 -> XI -> R/3!
My question is:
I have a scenario
R/3 -> IDOC -> XI -> whatever -> anysystem
I want to send an acknowledgement back to the R/3!
Which are the restrictions? Where do I generate the ackn. if the receiver syst is not able to generate it?
If the receiver can send something back, how move that to
Reason for the question:
I have here a nice Tutor where an IDOC to file scenario provides the IDOC sender with an ack.. But all what is to do is adding the Ackn.entry in SXMB_ADM and adding a IDOC receiver for the ALEAUD in Int.Directory!
How does that work? And is this working for all receiver adapters?
regards
Dirk
What's the matter with you people? I see so many mentors but no appropriate answer. This guy is asking how to send an application ack back to R3 in an IDoc-To-File scenario and i only see links to different versions from the same PDF with IDOC-To-IDOC or IDOC-To-File scenarios.
This is not about just posting whatever comes to your mind in order to increment the postings counter.
Come on! The question is clear but the answer is stil missing.

I fully agree!!!
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS are in the middle of a huge fog!
There is no clear explanation how it should work (or works) and everything is just one PDF with idoc->idoc scenario & using BPMs.
The only logical anwer for me is: even SAP doesn't know how it works or should and if they do, it's not implemented yet..

hi,
>>>>Is any system or applic. acknowledgement from any adapter suitable?
you can get it from most adapters
(if you set - ack in send step in BPM)
but the other way is to do it yourself
you can generate the IDOC systat
in which you send the original idoc's
number and then you can set the status yourself
this way gives you many possibilities...

Hi Michal,
so using BPM I can use the acknowledgement step, ok!
But what about this SAP own example with IDOC -> FILE with ackn. to R/3 w/o BPM? (the tutor example from the TBIT42). There is no BPM but an ackn. coming to the sender R/3 system! Stopping some seconds wondering about this tutor lesson gives the ides that this ackn. falls down from XIs heaven!
Ok, your idea about using IDOC systat is something for people loving write code, I think? Thats not for me!

Hi,
>>>>But what about this SAP own example with IDOC -> FILE
have a look at my we blog

>>>>Ok, your idea about using IDOC systat is something for people loving write code, I think? Thats not for me! :
why ? all you need to fill in systat is:
- original idoc number
- new status (depending on you solution)
that's all...

Ok Michal,
looks like SAP did not tell everything about this example! So I am not wondering why I am so confused about acknowledgements falling from sky! X-)
(But beside SAP we have you, and that s our luck! So thank you!)
Means: Use Ackn. always with a short sidestep to a small BPM except working with two R/3 systems and IDOC.
Or follow your hint (SYSTAT), which ( I must confess) I do not really understand!
Regards
Dirk
