Cross Application Time Sheet

1. Who is supposed to implement CATS in an organization? Is it the HR functional or PS guy?

2. How much time it takes for implementing CATS in a medium sized organization?

3. Any resources on CATS other than SAP Help?

Points assured!

    hi,guy.

The Cross-Application Time Sheet is a cross-application tool used to record individual person's working times and other data in a central worksheet.

you cna use data entry profiles to format the layout of the time sheet to suit your needs.

working times may be rlevant to more than one target component simultaneously. Reports transfer the released and/or approved data to one or more target components.

you can use the cross-application time sheet to record times for,and transfer them to, the following target components:

1.controlling CO: internal activity allocation, statistical key figures.

2.HR attendance, absences, and employee remuneration information.

3.MM-SRV external services : entry of services performed for external services

4.PM plant maintenance ,PS project system,CS customer service:confirmations for orders or networks

important note: confirmations to production planning(PP) are not supported in the cross-application time sheet.

The standard SAP training course number material CA500.

    CARS: cross-application time sheet.

I’ve this course material of CATS; if you want I can share those material with you. Send mail tell me. [removed by admin].

    Hope this would be help.

    Thanks

    Hi,

My candid answer for you question is:

There is nothing hard and fast rule that CATS should be implement by HR folks only. CATS time sheet is Cross Application component and as, most of functionality or usage of CATS in HR, So I’ve seen mostly HR functional folk’s have implemented the CATS in an Organization in a association with Logistic module folks. Any logistic module (PS or PM or MM) care about the correct transfer of their data, where as HR governs the entire employee’s related component of CATS. As per SAP, CATS is a part of HR module.

Answer to your question related to implementation time, its depend integration between the modules and scope of the work. Let’s assume that you would like to activate it for PS and HR then it should not take more than 8-12 weeks. I’m not including the employee’s training time in this scope.

I’ve some presentation of CATS; if you want I can share those presentations with you. Drop me an email on [removed by admin].

    Hope this would be help.

    Thanks

    1. It can be HR or PS, depends on who will be using the functionality. If it is meant to replace TMW, then the HR guy will do it. If it is meant for capturing activity allocation, PS guy should be doing it. But again, no hard rule.

    2. 2-3 months

    3. Send me a mail, will send a doc to you.

    Regards

    Lincoln
