Can Visual Composer make decisions based on boolean logic?

I need to know if I can use Visual Composer to manipulate data results based on boolean logic. Basically, if a month is less than the current month, I want a formula to dispay A instead of B. Can this be done?

Can I also say, if current month is greater than this month then hide values, else show values?

Yes, there are conditional operators in the formula editor like IF, ISNULL,...

Thanks so much Mario! Can I also choose to hide values based on some logic and show the column with no values?

Sure, you can either display the value, or no value. Though with those available functions you might need to nest the functions heavily, if you have many criteria/ranges to check and decide.

This is so helpful! Is it possible to download results from Visual Composer to Excel and have that report scheduled through Reporting Agent or Information Broadcaster?

Hi Tracey,

you might want to read the following thread in this forum

If it's a BW query that is behind your Visual Composer data service, then the better alternative might be to achieve those calculations with BEx Tools and scheduling it there, and using VC as display only.

Yes I have a BW Query that will be behind VC and I want to manipulate the query results further using VC. However, for this project, Excel is the preferred format, but I can try and sell the VC to manipulate the query results and display as well. Would you recommend this as a better alternative? If not, do you have any other suggestions?

In that case you don't need VC. I would then directly do that with BEx Query Designer and the use of a formula and boolean operators there. Here is the help of how you can achieve that:

Once you created sthe query this way, you can use the BEx Analyzer to embed it in Excel, and then use Information Broadcasting to schedule the calculations.

Of course if your requirements change and displayint that data in VC is good enough, then you can still go as mentioned in my answers above
