Change the filter Screen display for characteristics with attributes

We are on 2004's and I am publishing a query through the Query Designer, the variables appear correctly. As most of us know when selecting filter values for a characteristic during query execution, pulls up a seperate window where you have to move your desired filter values from left column to a column on the right.

When you are trying to filter on a characteristic with attributes, the attributes of the characteristic also show up on the filter selection window by default. Is there any way to avoid this. I have looked into the properties of the characteristic in the Query, as well as the Business Explorer tab in its definition. I have not been successful in identifying which property has to be set to achieve this and if its even possible.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There are two ways to avoid it:

    1. temporarly - when the list shows up on the selection you have a personalization button the the upper right side. Go to the attributes tab, and move all attributes out of the selection.

    2. on the infoobject definition - attributes tab, the 6th column is "order for F4 help" - this sets up the order in which the attributes are shown - just change everything to 0. This will prevent those from showing up.
