I'm having a problem connecting via WebDAV to cProjects 4.0, but I can't find what steps I must have missed. We do not have Enterprise Portals installed.
The URL for cProjects is http://xxx.yyy.zzz:8001/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/cprojects
In SICF I've created an alias of <i>default_host/cpr_webdav</i> which refers to <i>default_host/sap/cpro</i> and have activated the service <i>default_host/sap/cpro</i>.
In the cprojects "Settings for webDAV" config I've set <b>URL 1</b> to http://xxx.yyy.zzz:8001/cpr_webdav and ticked cProjects & cFolders.
I'm using <b>'My Network Places'</b> -> 'Add <b>Network Place'</b> to connect to webDAV and I use <i>http://xxx.yyy.zzz:8001/cpr_webdav</i> as the network address. A login is requested and I enter my SAP UserID and Password (which is the same for all 3 clients on this system). I then get an error message 'The folder you have specified does not appear to be valid'.
I've also tried adding <i>"?sap-client=xxx"</i> to the end of the URL to force a specific client with the same result.
Are there any additional authorisation objects required?
Are there any prerequisite services which need to be enabled?
Have I missed any steps?
Thanks for any help as I'm tearing out what little hair I have left
Hello everybody, I need help. I have tryed to set up the cFolders and cProjects with webDAV. I followed the "Ramp-Up Knowledge Transfer Setting up the cFolders KM Integration" document and the link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ppm400/helpdata/en/index.htm I followed step by step and I didn´t get the cFolders-System as a repository within KM, so I supose I missed some step, I don´t understand that.
Can anybody help me please?

Hi All,
I am having similar problems.
I have chnaged my SAP backend in transactions SICF and SPRO.
My WEBDAV url is http://<server>:<port>/sapwebdav/dpr. When I setup my Portal drive to refer to this I don't seen anything .
When I change the url in the portaldrive to http://<server>:<port>/sapwebdav/dpr/~(DPO_100002) I see the document and the gate folders.
In the Portal I have setup my system (KMWebDAV_System) with alias. I created the HTTP system and memory cache, I also created my Webdav repository. After a reboot I still don't see the repository under KM content.
Can anyone help?
Thanks Dries
Hello Paul,
you do not need the Enterprise Portal to be installed to use the WebDAV functionality.
The name SAP NetWeaver Portal drive is a little bit misleading.
It is called Portal drive, since it is the WebDAV client for the Knowledge Management (KM) of the portal also.
When using the SAP NetWeaver Portal drive with cFolders no portal is required as the SAP NetWeaver Portal drive acts also as WebDAV client for cFolders. The SAP NetWeaver Portal drive is a 3rd party WebDAV client from a company called XYTHOS (http://www.xythos.com/home/xythos/company/company.html), which can be used by SAP customers for free.
You can download the Installer for the SAP NetWeaver Portal drive from SAP Service Marketplace under http://service.sap.com/swdc
-> Download -> SAPSupport Packages and Patches -> Entry by Application Group
-> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NetWeaver2004s -> Entry by Component -> Frontend -> Portal Drive 4.4

Important: you must not use the Microsoft WebDAV interface. It does not fit to cFolders as there are security issues with using Microsoft WebDAV (my network üplaces) together with cFolders

Hi Paul,
I am also trying to do the same. I have given '/webdav' as the external alias to \default_host\sap\cpro. When I try to run the link 'http://<servername>:<port>/webdav/dpr and give the userID / Password, it is opening the page but no projects are displayed.
In your case are you able to see the projects that are created in cProjects URL?
Kindly suggest.
Thanks & Regards,

Yes, I am.
Do you get an error or just no folders shown?
What about client numbers? I'm not too sure how the client number in the aliases are supposed to function, but I got it to work using the default system client. I didn't manage to get it to work specifying a different client in the SICF alias
I also tried using "?sap-client=xxx" in the WebDAV URL like you can with the main cProjects URL, but this also did not work.
So if you are not already using the default client, try creating a project in there (or change the default client for the system) and see if that helps.
Paul
I've discovered the answer (just in case anyone else has the problem) - I needed to put /dpr on the end!
So using the URL http://xxx.yyy.zzz:8001/cpr_webdav/dpr in your webdav client gives the list of projects.
Also I did find that Windows Explorer is not very robust - the Portal Drive software does seem to make it better. (SAP do not recommend the use off Explorer 'for security reasons')
