Planned Indepedent Requirements - possible to change consumption date SO?

Hi SAP experts,

Is it possible to consume Planned Independent Requirements on a different date than MAD, on Sales Orders? We'd need to consume them on Requested delivery date or First date of SO.

I've checked other posts and sites but didn't find an answer. If there is no standard way to do it, I might need support to understand the standard logic of [SO av check & forecast consumption] on SO with requested delivery date in the past. (SAP ERP ECC6)

Thank you in advance.

Hello

The PIR will be consumed with the date for which the sales order is relevant to MRP and it is generally the same date displayed in transaction MD04. If you want to influence the consumption date, you would also need to influence the MRP date and you can do it using BAdI MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA.

Caetano

Hi,

Thanks for your answer Caetano.

Ok, I'll take this BadI into account. Would we see the impact in MD63 - total requirements too? Or only in MRP results?

I see there are other options but we would need APO: link, "User-defined consumption : Sales orders consume forecasted quantities according to your own consumption logic implemented via the Business Add-In (BAdI) /SAPAPO/DM_BADI_CSP."

However, I'd like to go a bit further functionally, as I believe that the standard behaviour of the system might make sense but we are not able to understand it. For us, PIR are monthly demand quantities. For all SO with requested delivery date in the past - which are backorders - daily mat av check job pushes SO item MAD (as you said, the SO MRP relevant date) to current month, so these SO consume current month forecast (strategy 40, backward 30 days). We understand that this should not happen, and these SO should be kept consuming past forecast (or none forecast in case, as we do, that past months forecast is deleted monthly). Is there anything wrong in our reasoning? Are we doing correctly the mat av check in SO? Do we use PIR correctly? Is there any workaround?

Thank you,

Hello ,

You can choose the schedule line category CM (no availability check) or set 'Fixed date and qty ' as null ', in MD04 the requirement date will be the the first delivery date (SO item) .
