Creating view

Hi Gurus

We have View and datasource already created in R/3 Dev now we want to add few fields to View ( which are also exist in the tables by which the view is created ) so I have modified view now my confusion is do I need to append the extract structure also to add those field in extract structure? because when I go to RSA6 and look at the data source and ES the new fields are not there so I think I need to append the ES.am I right ? or I am missing some steps?

Pl guide me.
