MSS - Leave Request Approver

Hi all,

I can request a Leave from ESS User. this request goes through to the MSS User (Approver) as it can be seen in the Workflow task in the inbox.

When the Manager logs in using his MSS User, even though he can see the leave applied (sent) in the Team calender, he is not able to Approve it.

I want to know how to incorporate the Approval process in the MSS User.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

If approval request is reaching inbox(is it Uwl on portal or inbox in R/3 you have checked).

Then you should be able to execute this request(from Uwl on portal) and it will open a request for leave approval(a webdynpro application). if not then you need to do a little configuration in transaction swfvisu (will send you details if this was missing).

if you are able top open the request but not able to approve the request, please share details of this error.

Hi Sudhir,

We have implemented ESS/MSS with EP 7.0 and ECC 5.0. The approval request is reaching inbox i.e the <b>Universal WorkList</b> and it also opens the request for leave approval web dynpro application. However the webdynpro application which is being launched is blank i.e. the fields are not popluated with data. Checked with R/3 the workflow is working as exepected.

Any clues ?

Check that the task is in the SWFVISU transactiion in R/3.

Also check that the user is not getting a problem in R/3 security (transaction ST22 and SU53).

Hi Chuckie,

We have checked for the existence of the task in SWFVISU transaction in R/3.

Also, transaction ST22 (Dump analysis) and SU53 (Display failed authorization check and authorization object) have been checked.

Still we have issues with the webdynpro launch. The fields are still blank.

Any clues for the same ?

Hi All,

This could be an authorization issue. Can you check the log to see if the webdynpro application is throwing an exception while retrieving the parameters ? Are you using the standard SAP Business Package or have you customized it. Secondly, how about the workflow, is that standard or customized ?

This doesn't look like an issue with SWFVISU. If that would have been the case, you should have atleast been able to see the data retrieved from the backend. Once that's done and if the workflow doesn't work we can have a look at SWFVISU because to the best of my knowledge SWFVISU has nothing to do with the data retrieval part.

Kindly refer to the MSS Business Package Configuration guide ... may be you have missed out something in the pre-requistes or the post deployment steps.

If that doesn't help you - you may want to re-register you system in the UWL administration and clear out all the cache.

can you please tell me how can i use the ws12300111 workflow for leave request. I need the configuration such that i can view the requests in the manager's inbox and in the uwl of MSS.

Waiting for your help. It's urgent.
