Mass update on contact email ID using DMT

Hi,

I am trying to use the data migration tool to update the email id of all the contact person in the system. However, the upload file fails at the simulation stage with the below errors:

Update not possible; existing data for CONTACT_PERSON not fully specified Missing key specification for processing node BUSINESS_PARTNER_RELATIONSHIP ROOT

I am using the template of migration of customers and have maintained the account ID and contact ID with the new email ID in the template.

I am using the migration mode 'Modify existing records' to update the email ID's.

I also tried creation a new contact for an existing account with the mode enhance existing records and then change the email ID of the contact person with the mode modify existing records, and it works fine!

However for the existing records in the system, the file is resulting with the above errors.

Hello Prajit,

Currently it is not possible to update Contact information using the Migration tool in Migration Mode: Modify Already Existing Records, because an update such as this requires the Contact internal ID field (UUID), which the template does not contain. To modify Contact information you can use Mass Data Maintenance work center (it extracts all already existing information from Contacts and allows you to change information from most fields) or Data Workbench work center, that works in a similar way for the Update function.
