ABAP, Java and HANA on one server using SAP Solution Manager 7.2 HANA

Though I found a similar topic in the archive, I'm still not sure if the above combination is valid. I would say it is, but I may be wrong.

  • running ABAP and HANA on one server is supported (SAP Note 1953429)
  • running Java and HANA on one server is supported (SAP Note 2043509)
  • according to the Solution Manager 7.2 upgrade guide it is recommended to keep the Java and ABAP schema in the same database after a dual-stack split. If it's allowed in this case, I see no reason why it shouldn't be allowed in a green field installation

Of course it's necessary to keep a close eye on the sizing etc., but it should be a valid (and supported) setup.

Or am I wrong?

Any hints are welcome.

Regards, Thorsten
