Hi Chris,

Just an Input from my side.

If you plan to Implement Change Management Charm functionality in near days the Solman shd act as Domain controlller for the TMS (In case of small landscapes). In case of larger landscapes and multi system landscapes i am still searching for a good methodology to follow.

So far we are planning to start the project. From what I see in the demonstration, this function in Sol Manager is tightly integrated with R/3.

This sounds good but how about we need to shut down QAS and then PRD for upgrade?

Anybody knows?

Cheers,

Chris

You call transaction STMS on your Solution Manager. If you have

created a local transport domain, you have to delete it. Menu

Overview-> Systems-> Extras-> Delete TMS Configuration. Confirm the

popups. On the Popup: TMS:Include System in Transportdomain you can

change to "Other Configuration" (F6) (second button from left)

then select "include system to domain". Enter the application server

and system ID from your domain controller. After this your domain

controller get the information that a new system wants to be part of the

domain, then you have to activate this on the controller,

then the status changed.

That should be all you have to do.

But the recommendation from SAP is that the system with the newest basis

should be the domain controller.

Hi,

so you just have to take the Solution Manager system into your exisiting transport domain and use the fact that it already has trusted rfc-connections to all satellite systems via its SLD, right? According to this configuration you can then jump into all import queues and manage them.

Is there no specific functionality of the SAP Solution Manager product which deals wih central transport management, apart from the solution mentioned above?

Hey Parmeshwaram,

i want my solman system to be the domain controller.

So i can go into Satellite system and Delete the local domain controller there and add new domain controller (same as solman Domain controller ) ??

Will this work ??

Hey Raghu,

We have one SAP ECC 6.0 on our landscape which has the local domain controller..

We have Solman 4.0 on our landscape which has the local domain controller.

I want to implement CHARM in our landscape, so dont u think that if i change the domain controller in my ECC system to that of the Solman System, i can implement CHARM..
