"Would I like to save or edit the incomplete document?"

"Would I like to save or edit the incomplete document?" is the exact error message received when I am creating a SALES order (not a purchase order). I already have the QUOTATION referenced. A purchase order is for materials. This is for SELLING the materials after we have PRODUCED something with the goods. In other words, this message is coming from VA01 (the short-cut on SAP).

The only thing we are to go to is the CONDITIONS page of the MATERIAL LINES. Type in "PR00" and then a price of 5500. Next we were instructed to press the green check mark,. Then I pressed the SAVE. That's when "Document Incomplete" arises.

You can try two things with your authorizations:

  • check what you see (optionally, post a screenshot here) of the screen with your incompletion log. You can navigate there by selecting Edit->Incompletion log, or pressing Ctrl+F8.
  • if you have authorization for V.00 or V.02: run the transaction and post a screenshot of the report result, where your incomplete order should be listed (without clicking on the order itself, just the list).

One more question - have you raised this question to your local support desk? Even if this is a user mistake and not an actual system problem, the IT department would need to know if additional actions are expected from them, for example updating the current documentation or sending an e-mail to order entry specialists, explaining the troubleshooting steps.

Edit: and why do you have to enter PR00 when you are creating a document with reference to a quotation? Isn't the main point of using quotations in your organization to agree on specific prices and use them in the actual order?
