Assembly Scrap MFBF

Hello!!

I am trying to figure out how the assembly scrap will work in REM environment.

We have an assembly with 10 components and i maintained 5% Assembly scrap (MRP1 view) on the Assembly product.

When i do the MFBF - Assembly Backflush, i was expecting system to backflush 5% more on the components but it is not working. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I also, tried to use the component scrap on the BOM line item level, and that is not working either, meaning the component quantities are not being bumped up by 5% for backflush. However, the product costing and the MRP are considering the 5% more for calculations.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Vicky,

When you maintain the assembly scrap for finished material than it will increase the order qty for that finished material and so the component qty in production order.

When you maintain the component scrap for any material than when it is used in production order, the qty is increased based on the scrap percentage.
