CI and DB soft link - Distribution enviroinment

Hi ,

I am installing DB instance on a linux server and CI is exist in difference machine.

what is the soft link need to be established with CI from the DB server

Is it shell related or environment variable related?..can it be established by the system automatically.

I would appreciate all your inputs..

Hi Daniel,

There is no softlink needed for distributed environment other than the profile parameters, Client and other executables. All these requirements will be taken care by installation process. When you give your DB hostname while installing CI it takes care of all required parameters, host entries etc., you just need to make sure both servers are connected (I mean in network and ping'able).
