SAP Cloud Identity API Call Failure from Postman

Dear all,

I followed the guidelines on how to call SCI API here at:

But it seems that for every API call that I made in postman, it returns 403 forbidden error.

My procedures:

1. Follow the guide on configuring HTTP Basic Credentials for SCI API at: and configured a username and password

Then I open postman, enter the basic credentials, update the header, and then call the User Resource API(: to get a specific user:

But the response from postman is 403 forbidden as shown below:

I tried other APIs like create user, update user, delete user and also get tenant texts. But none of them worked.

It seems that I am prohibited from calling any SCI APIs. Is there any setting I missed?

Could anyone help solve the issue? Thanks a lot!

Not really the perfect answer, but have you tried the User Management REST API (

This one is working for me, while with the same user the SCIM API is not working (same error 403). Would love to get this one working as well.

    • Okay I got it to work. For the SCIM-API, you can't use the Basic Auth from the Applications tab.

From Home, goto Administrators, add a "System", and then set a Password. There you will get a second user like T00000001 (or similar). Use this one then, for me it is working.
