Hi T,

You should create RFC destination in both the systems ideally. To create RFC destination use transaction SM59.

Check the following link for details on RFC destination:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/22/04262b488911d189490000e829fbbd/frameset.htm

Ports can be created using WE21. Again create ports in both the systems. For more info refer:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/db/8ab6e7de6411d1a5330060087a79ea/frameset.htm

please award points if you found the answer useful.

Regards.

in case of an IDOC involved;

R3 - SM59

1. RFC destination (pointing to XI)

3. Port involving the RFC destination.

in XI

1. SM59 - RFC destination to R3

2. IDX1 - define the port.
