Remote connect to SAP

Former Member

Hi,

I have this scenario. Customer A has installed and is using SAP at location A. I want to connect to Customer A's SAP system remotely from location B.

Customer A has given me application server IP address, SAP router ID, user ID and pwd to access the SAP client.

What should I install at my end to connect to this system? Is the SAP Logon 6.4 (or 6.2) enough for this ?

Thanks,

Srinivas.

Yes you need SAPlogon (higher vertion preferable but not necesary), for the saplogon connection you need application server name, system ID and username and password.

You also need some sort of VPN conection.

Hope this help!

Hi,

Following are the inputs required for creating Connection from SAP Logon Pad.

1. Application Server = IP Address or Host Name of SAP Server you want to connect.

2. SAP Router String = If you are connecting via Firewall accross VPN.

3. System ID = <SID> ex., DEV, PRD...

4. System Number = <00> ex., 00, 01 ..99

5. Select radio Button R/3

6. Give some description under that field.

Before doing the above please try to PING the Server at Location A from your machine(should be replying).
