Addning dates in BW 3.1

Hi Guys,

I have two fields, One is a date field in the normal date format of XX/XX/2006 (z_podate) and another field which is a number. This number field stores a 'number of days' value (z_deldays). How can I add z_podate and z_deldays as I want to get a result and compare to another date field in a start routine of an update rule? Can I do this in the Update rules as follows:

IF COMM_STRUCTURE-/bic/z_podate+COMM_STRUCTURE-/bic/z_deldays <

COMM_STRUCTURE-/bic/z_deldate.

RESULT = 1.

ELSE.

RESULT = 0.

ENDIF.

Will This work? Or shall I add them in BEx. I think adding the number of days to the date field may not work?! Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Depesh

    Hi,

    It will definately work. And also it is better to have this calculation in update rule rather than at BEx Side.

      Hi Anil,

      No this was not the reason. The load finally went in although the routine I used was not 100% correct. I had to create a new variable called date and then do the addition of the date field with the number of days. The new date field carried this value and then I compared this with the delivery date.

      This is all now ok!

      Thanks again
