Transporting Implicit enhancement to Production

We have upgraded our dev and quality systems.

the production system is not upgraded currently .

for moving any transport to production we are currently checking impact and then only transporting if possible.

my question is...an implicit enhancement (as per business requirement).is written in a function module called in major standard processes. this function module has been modified in the upgrade. after writing the implicit enhancement, I have checked the transport request which includes just the enhancement implementation.

My doubt is if we transport this request to PRD will there be any adverse effect of doing it as business expects the change in PRD or is it suggestible to move this particular transport after PRD upgrade only.

I have even analyzed alternatives of writing the logic in places where this function module is called but the same problem persists.

Request some suggestions.
