Hello Experts,
I am looking for urgent help on 3 issues that we are facing on SAP BW: excel based planning application created for Planners. They will analyze stock and demand of a material and then select comments from 3 dropdowns and then save it.
Issue #1. We have created workbook having two tabs
"DataDump"and "Input Ready" Report. As the name indicates, the Save functionality is available on the Input Ready tab of the workbook. After saving here, the dataDump tab will be automatically refreshed with the updates. On the Input ready tab, a white line at the end of the report indicates that the report is available for editing comments. For few userIds, this white line is not displayed. Can you please let me know if there are any system settings/user settings required to execute Input Ready queries.
Issue 2: The heading of Datadump tabe is "DataDump Report"
The heading of Input ready report is "Input Ready Report".
For few user Ids, the heading of Input ready report displays "Data Dump Report"
Issue#3: How can we allow concurrent edits in the workbook?
currently, If one planner has opened workbook for a particular Plant having 100 materials, then all other planners are blocked from entering comments for any of the materials in that plant. other planners can only view the data for that plant.
Is there a way to display popup message on which userIds have currently logged in to the workbook?.
It would be really helpful if you help me solve the issues
Thanks in Advance
Hello Tanu,
please specify your question more in detail.
Which Excel Forntend Tool are you using - Bex? AfO? Something else?
When you write, that users shall change comments - do you really mean comments or plan data?
Because you write "
a white line at the end of the report indicates that the report is available for editing comments. For few userIds, this white line is not displayed. Can you please let me know if there are any system settings/user settings required to execute Input Ready queries.
" which does not really make sense - it´s either the comment functionality thats missing or the input ready query for plan data ...Either way - if it does not work for certain users, check the authorizations
then for your last question about "concurrent users in the same workbook" - this is nonsense, the workbook itself can be opened as often as you want, each users gets his/her own "application" = single workbook. BUT the DATA can be changed only by one user in one application. So check the lock characteristics and the selections in the query.
regards
Cornelia
