getting the following ISQL error while trying to login to Sybase ASE 15.7

Msg 4002, Level 14, State 1:

Server ‘ABC’

Login failed

CT_LIBRARY error:

ct_connect<>:protocol specific layer: external error: The attempt to connect to the server failed

The error reason with customer system was c) wrong password

Well, the message shows your client application is at least connecting to a running server

Some possible causes:

a) trying to connect to the wrong server (where login and/or password is different or doesn't exist) Check your $DSQUERY setting or -S parameter.

b) wrong login name

c) wrong password

d) account is locked (possibly due to too many failed login attempts, for instance)
