DI-Server License

Hi experts,

We are confused about the DI-Server licensing. In the latest documentation.

"DI-Server: Enables an unlimited number of users to access to SAP Business One’s data through partners’ solutions only. These users cannot access any of the user interfaces (desktop and mobile) developed by SAP. Notes: the DI-Server is a license per Core on a CPU, not as a Named User. Connections can be created thought the DI-Server and the Service Layer. Separate license is required for connections through the DI-API and Integration Framework of SAP Business One. Note: This option may require to be covered by ‘MS-SQL per core’ database licenses as well"

Our server has 2 processor and each proc has 12 cores. In the documentation, it says 2 DI-Server every core. Here's my questions:

1. Do we need to buy all 24 DI-Server license?

2. If no, Can we just buy only 2 DI-Server license instead of 24?

3. If we buy DI-Server license per core, do we need also to buy MS-SQL per core license?

    Hi Bryan,

    To answer your questions:

    1. No, you need not to buy all 24 DI-Server License.

    2. Yes, you can buy only 2 DI-Server License.

    3. These 2 are not dependent. It is upto you if you want to have it.

    Hope it helps!

      Hello Ankit,

Thanks for the response. My next question is that,

      1. At what point do we need to buy all 24 DI-Server License?

Because, we don't know how many DI-Server license do we need to buy.

      2. How many users can handle the 2 DI-Server License? In the documentation, it says "Enables an unlimited number of users to access to SAP Business One’s data through partners’ solutions only"

    Hi Bryan,

    1. The more throughput you have, the more processing power you need. In that case, you will have to buy more licenses.

    2. It does not depend on users. The more users you have, those users needs the SAP Licenses. Basically it will depend on the core.

    Hi Ankit,

Bryan looped me in, in this conversation. Please confirm that:

    1. If the server has 12 cores, we can have the customer initially buy only 1 DI-Server which is for 2 cores. If we need more processing power in the future, we can just additional DI-Server license.

    2. If we connect through the DI-Server, we don't need the customer to buy the Indirect Access User anymore.

    3. But, if we connect using the DI-API, we need the customer to buy Indirect Access User assuming that the user who will connect to SAP is not a professional or limited user.

    Regards,

    Hi Beth,

    1. Yes, you need not to buy the Indirect Access User anymore, if you are connecting through DI Server.

    2. Yes, while connecting using DI API, you need to have the Indirect Access User.

    Hope it helps.
