Hi,

The LSMW tool has a fixed secuence of migration steps which actually are easily understandable. When you have decided in the first step the migration object (Customer Master /Vendor master / material master, etc.) and selected the adequate migration strategy (standard batch Input /Direct input, Idoc, BAPI or the easiest way: by recording), THEN in the next steps you define migration structure and fields acording to your migration file and/or requirements. THEN apply The MAPPING , READ Your file, display the data you read, apply the conversion rules of your mapping and watch the results of applying your convertion rules and at the last step execute the BI, DI or BAPI or recording.

You could in the ABAPP rule of the mapping write a select statement. But it is not the idea because its worses the performance.

You do not fill directly tables or view unless you use the direct input. Shoose the right migration program (BI, DI, BAPI, IDOC) in the first step for your MIgration object.

    Hope this helps.

    If so, please allocate points!!!

    2. Yes, we can write any ABAP related statements in LSMW.

we write them in MAINTAIN FIELD MAPPINGS AND CONVERSION RULES step.

here select a field, and double click on that field, then you will see a screen(its looks like ABAP editor),here you can write the code.

    3.

    this also same as above,

in the ABAP editor, you will validate the field.

    IF ZSOURCE-MATNR IS INITIAL.

    SKIP_RECORD.

    ELSE.

    BMMOO-MATNR = ZSOURCE-MATNR.

    ENDIF.

    Hope this helps you.
