regarding CHAR datatype

is CHAR datatype allows only numbers in BW???

    No, char datatype allow from A to Z and all accepted characters in BW.

    Char data type is alpha numberic it will allow from a-z and 0-9

    I know that CHAR allows characters.But

    It will allow numbers also.Char data type is alpha numberic it will allow from a-z and 0-9

    hai murali

    while im trying to load the data it gives the runtime error and says that NUMERIC data is trying to load to CHARACTER data type infoobject .

    Then why it is coming like that

    pls tell me

    Are you perhaps thinking of type <b>NUMC</b>? It only allows numerics, although they're not calculable key figures.

    Hi,

    If you want to load numeric values, suggest you use NUMC datatype instead of CHAR.

    CHAR - takes both chars and numbers

    NUMC - Char string with only digits.
