Hi, I do not see any issue connecting to a remote SAP system as long as there is no network/firewall issues blocking communication the IS server and SAP server, and you have required access to the SAP system. Are you seeing any errors. Please do note that in case of large physical distance between the two points, communication may be very slow i..e it will take much longer than compared to scenario where both servers will be in the same data center.
