Is there a solution for disabling the Enable SSL checkbox in BO 4.1 SP8 BI Launch Pad?

The 'Enable SSL' checkbox is a new feature introduced in Business Objects 4.1 SP8. This checkbox is located in the Destination - Email option in BI Launch Pad and defaults to unchecked/unselected. In our organization, the TLS protocol, rather than the SSL protocol is used/supported, therefore, if an end user was to unknowingly select the 'Enable SSL' checkbox, the scheduled report will fail to execute. We are trying to determine if there are other SAP Business Objects clients who have experienced the same issue described above, and what, if any, solutions/workarounds were used to remediate?

Well I won’t call it solution but seems like this feature is not working in SP08 , So you are safe Hak 🙂

It is mentioned that this issue will be fixed in SP10 , I tested this myself as we are in SP08 , Report does fail if we use this option "Enable SSL "

Coming back to solution in longer run , We can certainly get rid of FROM field from email scheduling option so I see there should be some way to disable this option as well. Here is the KB which talks about removing FROM option.1758748 - How to disable FROM field in email destination in BI 4.x

I don't think so you can disable this..there is no option in BO security setup to disable this.

I would suggest to check with Sap Suppor team or you can educate users to don't use this option while scheduling.
