Bulk import of contacts

Hi there,

I have been struggling with this for a while now. Our C4C system is live and we have a whole bunch of existing accounts and contacts.

As more of our users get onto the system, they each have their own list of contacts, tucked away in Excel spreadsheets that they want to load into C4C.

What is the best way of getting these contacts into C4C?

I've looked at:

Data Workbench - under Import, it might be ok, but i cannot see where to associate the contact to an account. Nor do i know what would happen if we added a contact to the template that already existed (would it create duplicates)

Contact Migration Template - the issue i see here is that the end user will need to know the account ID (if adding to an existing account). If the account didn't exist, then it sounds like the process would be to ask user to create the accounts in C4C first. Then ask them to prepare the migration template.

Both of these sound cumbersome and not very user-friendly. I was hoping there was a better way to mass upload contacts into C4C.

Can someone provide me guidance on the best way to do so?

Hi Sandico,

The best option to import all these contacts is indeed to use the Data Workbench. For this scenario, you would use two different files, one for the import of the contact, and the other one for the association of them to the account. There is the Contact object available, and with this object you will be able to add the contact itself to the system. After adding the contact information, you can use the Business Partner Relationship file to link the contact to the account.

Thanks for the solution.

Even am struggling with the same.

I need to upload new contact details into sap c4c, the issue is with in the template we need to fill the external key.Am not aware of it.

Can you please elaborate it more.
